Arcanum to the Big Screen

June 12, 2007

Gold Circle films has picked up Thomas Wheeler’s occult adventure novel, THE ARCANUM, and plan to make a movie franchise out of it. Check out the very cool premise.

“The Arcanum,” Wheeler’s debut novel, is set in 1919 and follows the titular secret society comprising the era’s leading occult investigators — Arthur Conan Doyle, Harry Houdini, H.P. Lovecraft and Marie Laveau — as they battle demons descending on New York City, including a serial killer of angels.

Okay, that just sounds great to my ears. That’s the best period super-team since THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN. Here’s hoping the film adaptation goes slightly better than that one did, though. And a serial killer of angels? Count me in.
