New Iron Man Footage!

June 1, 2007

Mtv has some AMAZING new Iron Man Footage that’s gonna blow you away… there’s a kind of terrible interview where you get to see plenty of the helmet… a great desert action sequence with a reveal of the first model helmet… and little bit of Tony arriving at a function of some sort (and having a little trouble with the ladies).

Every time I see a new clip, I just can’t get it out of my head: Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark! This really is going to be a movie that sets a new bar for the superhero genre!

New FF2 Trailer

May 31, 2007

Ohhhhh, man… a few new shots in the latest trailer for FANTASTIC FOUR 2: THE RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER, and this movie is looking good, good, good! We’re loving the whole team-absorbs-each-other’s-powers angle, that’s for sure. See for yourself:

Now, if only we could get some word that Galactus isn’t REALLY just a cloud…

The Incredible Hulk Synopsis

May 31, 2007

Via Comic Book Movie, Universal has released a full synopsis for THE INCREDIBLE HULK, the non-sequel starring Ed Norton and Liv Tyler:

The explosive, action-packed adventure in one of the all-time most popular superhero sagas unfolds with a cure in reach for the world’s most primal force of fury: The Incredible Hulk. We find scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote. But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won’t leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler).

Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination (Tim Roth) — a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk’s own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. And on June 13, 2008, one scientist must make an agonizing final choice — accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: The Incredible Hulk.

Can’t wait to see THE ABOMINATION and THE HULK tear up Manhattan! That could be one amazing fight sequence, especially in the hands of director Louis Leterrier!

Spider-Man 4 Update

May 31, 2007

Hmmm… this PIRATES article from iF has a quote from Amy Pascal, head of Sony Studios, that we haven’t seen before:

A fourth installment of SPIDER-MAN has been in the works for more than a month, with the studio circling screenwriters it may tap.

“If you want the kind of longevity we’re hoping for with SPIDER-MAN, you have to think of them as stand-alone movies, not ‘1-2-3-4,’ ” says Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures’ studio chairman. “They’re sort of like the James Bond stories.”

So, is this the gentle way of telling us that Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst WON’T be back for number four? Sounds that way to us.

Teen Titans: The Movie

May 31, 2007

Absolutely huge news from The Hollywood Reporter… Warner Brothers is developing a TEEN TITANS movie!!! This is a fanboy’s wet dream right here… will they go with a traditional old school sidekicks team (Robin, Wonder Girl, Speedy, Aqualad, and Kid Flash), or will the inspiration be the Wolfman-Perez glory days (Nightwing, Donna Troy, Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy, and Jericho)? Either way, WE WIN!!! And of course, you know this almost certainly means we’ll get to see, live and in the flesh…

The ultimate DC badass and THE Titans villian. If they get this right, Slade could end up being one of the all-time great film villians of the Super-hero genre, right there with Nicholson’s Joker and Molina’s Doc Ock.

The news gets even better… MARK VERHEIDEN is writing the script… this guy gets it– from his comics work on THE MASK and TIMECOP to his credits on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and SMALLVILLE–  we should have plenty of faith that he’ll knock this one out of the park.

So who do we HAVE to see on this team? What should the story be? Any chance of a Batman cameo?

The Dark Knight in IMAX

May 29, 2007

USA Today has some very cool Batman news— four sequences of THE DARK KNIGHT will be filmed using Imax cameras, including the much anticipated debut of Heath Ledger’s Joker! We can’t wait to see those scenes burst off the screen, and definitely hope more filmmakers follow Christopher Nolan’s lead on this one. Even better, two new production shots for you, including another glimpse of The Joker!
